Dog Dad Life: 2 Stories That Hit Home

Dog Dad Life: 2 Stories That Hit Home

Owning a dog isn't just walks, treats, and tennis balls  in the park, it's a life changing journey...

So instead of taking it lightly, we want to create a unique and special space for those who truly understand this bond so they can share it with our community.

“I wasn’t planning on getting a dog. I walked into the shelter ‘just to look’ (my friends used to say that I had to bring some love into my life…) and there he was, this awkward, lanky mutt with eyes too big for his face haha and a tail that thumped wildly against the kennel wall (omg, can you imagine?). He didn’t bark, didn’t jump.

He just looked at me like he already knew me, like if he knew me from somewhere else, I don’t know... I walked out with a leash in hand and a heart forever changed.

I just… I know it has been the best decision of my life.”

“I got Max when I was 22 and completely lost in life, and maybe he was too... I found him during a trip (one of many to find a new home), Max was very small, and fit perfectly in my hand... We’ve moved through five apartments, one breakup, two jobs, and one very questionable mustache phase. We've lived every adventure (and those yet to come), and Max has brought color and sound to each one.

Honestly take my advice, if you have the opportunity, go to a shelter and allow yourself to have all that joy and hair in your life.

Having such a genuine connection is one of the best things I could wish for another person.”

pet, pet and owner bondThere’s something sacred about the little ways we carry our dogs with us. Whether it's a toy they destroyed but you couldn't throw away or a keepsake that means more than it looks.

One of our favorites is the Pet Face Tag Necklace, a subtle, beautifully crafted way to keep a piece of your pup with you everywhere you go.

Conclusion:

Being a dog dad means having muddy floors and a full heart. It means learning to speak without words, to love without expectations, and to give your whole self to a creature that gives theirs without question. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
